Penmanship!

pier-1127779_960_720

Pen met man.

They hired a ship.

Had a pleasant trip.

Honey and Moon.

Jungle and swoon.

They travelled far and wide,

Saw drama, pangs, throngs and tide,

There was no goal,

The ship got a hole,

Started to sink,

Plenty to drink,

And eat,

No more meat,

Only vegetables,

Keeping mind stables,

Life jacket,

Inside a bracket,

Saying bye to each other,

Blather leather, honky and thither.

  2. A fun and fabulous poem Anand 🙂 I love how you created this from ‘pen-man-ship’ too and you carry your reader along on the waves of this voyage, making perfect sense and nonsense all at the same time! The rhythm is quite like gentle waves, it’s lovely to read 🙂 Hope you are blessed with much Love and Light and all is well 🙂

    1. LOL. I googled Edward Lear and Pobble who has no toes: a nice poem. I was not familiar with the word Pobble as well. Thanks for your nice comment Maddy. I am doing good and I hope you and yours are doing well too 🙂

      Love and light ❤

  3. This is very cute. It reminds me of the kind of free-flowing, cheerful children’s verse I used to enjoy as a child. I love the way you’ve built the poem around the sound of the word “penmanship” too. I guess you could say I admire your pun-man-ship. 🙂
