Shirdi Sai Baba’s Birth Chart!

Sai Baba of Shirdi was a fakir(monk) in the 19th century who lived in Shirdi(Maharashtra, India) for most of his life. He is widely worshipped in India today by people of all communities alike. Not much is known about his early life and birth data is not corroborated to be factual. He performed many miracles in his lifetime and said that he will reincarnate after eight years. Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi was born 8 years after his death. Thus devotees believe that his prophecy fructified. Based on this data, let’s see birth chart of Sai Baba. My humble salute to Baba.

Birth Data: 28 September 1835. Monday. 09:47 AM. Pathri. Maharashtra(India)

Ascendant and Navamsa

Scorpio rises in ascendant with Leo navamsa. In the navamsa, the lagna lord Sun is exalted in the ninth house. Ninth lord Mars is located in the fifth house whereas the fifth lord Jupiter is located in the ninth house. Thus the ninth house has Sun, Jupiter, Rahu and Venus, while the fifth house has Mars in the navamsa. It is worthy of being noted that Mars, Sun and Rahu, all 3 of them being malefics located in two trika houses and associated with benefics Jupiter and Venus suggest a Siddha–a perfected yogi or master.

Moon, being lord of the 12th navamsa is located in Pisces in the 8th house. Atmakaraka in the Pisces navamsa suggests final emancipation and its association with 5th lord suggests Siddhi. Saturn is exalted and forming a close conjunction with Ketu and Mercury in the third house in navamsa. All indications suggest a yogi.

The ascendant has a conjunction between Moon and Ketu(south node of Moon.) This is a common feature in spiritual charts. The 12th house has lagna lord Mars with exalted Saturn and Mercury. Mercury and Saturn have close conjunction and association with the lagna lord makes 12th house very strong. In this nativity, it is evident that these indications suggest that native was inclined towards meditation, charity and final liberation. Saturn is in its exaltation sign but not very strong. Its association with Mars, which is both lagna and Moon lord, confers Sanyasa Yoga.

Mars has exemplary strength in this chart, which is a must in the charts of yogis. Inner planets like Mercury, Venus and Mars along with Moon tell about a charismatic personality and a yogi, whereas Saturn and Jupiter must be strong for a social reformer or a public figure.

Debilitated Venus is situated with Sun in the 11th house. Cancellation of debilitation makes him a revered saint in his lifetime, though Venus must be weak in the charts of saints mostly. You also see a partial Kaal Sarp Yoga as most of the planets are inside the Rahu-Ketu axis.

A light may appear in different colors and one might like a particular color or frequency. A particular color not matching frequency of a person does not make a light any different. Similarly divinity is about influencing or catapulting normal people out of daily chores to do something good for a greater cause be it service, charity or spreading positive human vibes.

I am a devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba who is one of the few saints who lived very simply in one place all his life and still transformed so many lives’ through his miraculous powers. He truly lived like a fakir without accumulating any wealth. Sri Sathya Sai did not live a life like that. Do you believe him to be the reincarnation of sai baba? I am asking because you know much about astrology and you have also given us sathya sai’s chart. By the way, do you offer astrological services to people who want to know their future? Anyways, I enjoy reading your blogs like these though I do not know anything about astrology. Your other blogs are interesting too. No wonder you have so many followers! Bravo!

    1. Thanks for your kind words Prem. I don’t know about Sathya Sai Baba being a reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba with any certainty. But based on the birth data given the ascendants do match. Even Sathya Sai Baba lived at the same place and his trust has served many people. I am not a staunch devotee of any of them but both did great things. There is a tendency in all of us to look down upon people who are recent and exalt those who are gone. The more ancient the figure the more he is revered. If I were to say : Sri Sri Ravishankar is Krishna himself–no one will believe. If I say: Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was Krishna or Ramkrishna Paramhamsa was Krishna people will believe just because they are in the past. Do you believe anyone alive today is an incarnation of god? Maybe you do–but most people don’t. Just think about it–why not? Why a person becomes holier just after death.

I agree with you to a certain extent. But though Sathya sai stayed at puttaparthi he had a lot of wealth and there were also certain controversies about him while he was alive. And he was not a fakir, begging for alms and having food. Somehow I am not able to accept him as Baba’s reincarnation.
The other thing about recent saints, I feel, is that we see, hear and know more about them as they are in our midst. All these influence our thinking and human mind being what it is, accepts negative things easily and contradicts positive things. That’s probably why we are not able to think of any living saint as god’s reincarnation. Only when somebody has lived a completely blameless and flawless life can he be accepted as such, I feel.

        1. That is the point I am making. “blameless” and “flawless” are subjective. What you have heard about some people might have been rumors and then if there was an iota of truth that might be there in the lives of Ram and Krishna too. There is no such thing as “perfection” no matter how enlightened a human being is. So many enlightened human beings had their idiosyncratic personalities and yet they had enlightenment. The hagiography which grows around saints makes them divine and I am not against it because I feel human personality is flawed but divinity can shine through a flawed personality. I don’t feel there is any difference in Krishna, Ramakrishna, Ravishankar, Osho or Satya Sai as far as enlightenment is concerned and the same divinity is present in you, me and Hitler too πŸ™‚
