Atmakaraka

Atmakaraka is the planet with highest degrees in any sign in the radix chart. In his chart Saturn is Atmakaraka and it’s placed in the Karma Bhava(tenth house) in the horoscope. Saturn is a planet of common people, elders, downtrodden and justice. Saturn being atmakaraka suggests that mission of such a native is to serve people. Since Atmakaraka is placed in the tenth house, which is the house of social visibility and public responsibility, he is shouldering a great responsibility and will continue to do so for the major part of rest of his life. Atmakaraka is placed in the sign Sagittarius in the Navamsa(ninth division of radix) which suggests a fall from some conveyance or a high place. This might be true either literally or figuratively. In my humble observation, many role models who have propagated traditional and spiritual values have this placement.

Baba Ramdev, Atal Bihari Bajpayee, Manoj Kumar, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Rahul Dravid, Jiddu Krishnamurti and Swami Vivekananda have this placement of Atmakaraka in the ninth division of radix. Ascendant is placed in 12th and 8th houses respectively for Karakamsa in Radix and Navamsa, therefore he has an ease with respect to family, speech and money. He is a wonderful speaker. Since ascendant is placed in the 8th house in Swamsa, he has to work for conflict resolution mostly. [ 6th is the house for conflict resolution.] Since Ketu is a malefic situated in the third house from Karakamsa, the native is valorous.

House Significators

Sun, Mercury, Venus, Saturn and Ketu are five planets which signify 10th house in the stellar calculations, which suggests that he will hold an office of public responsibility and work for masses.

Strongest Planets

Sun and Saturn are strongest planets in his chart as per the shadbala calculations. Sun is important for rulers and administrative people whereas Saturn is important for public servants. Having these two planets strong makes him a just leader.

Key Yogas in Horoscope

Ascendant Scorpio makes him a passionate born leader with Mars and Moon located in close proximity conferring both Chandra-Mangala Yoga along with Ruchaka Panchmahapurusha Yoga. The former gives him inventive ways to make money and production, which he uses for the welfare of states he rules and the latter gives him fierce capability to lead with boldness and courage.

Rahu in the fifth house makes Gudhabhavarthavit Yoga. Such native is able to understand hidden meanings of things and become good diplomats. His writings will be too deep for most of the people.

Jupiter’s placement in the fourth house gives rise to two benefic yogas. Nishkapat Yoga makes him a person of pure heart and since Jupiter is the lord of the fifth house it also makes a Buddhmaturya Yoga, a person of great intelligence and character. It must be observed that a retrograde Jupiter has done some harm to the native with respect to the houses it owns. The lord of second house being retrograde has separated him from his own family and the same with respect to the fifth house has not allowed any progenies. Since there are no planets in movable signs it makes Chatuschakra Yoga.

      1. That´s what it make it interesting. Every unknown term is a new research. As a total ignorant of planet´s relevance for our lives, the plain narration is a nice tale, which invites to know more about. Any sense in all of this? Thank you Anand. Big hug
