The Law of Opposites

Tao Te Ching

The Law of Opposites.

When the world knows beauty as beauty, ugliness arises
When it knows good as good, evil arises
Thus being and non-being produce each other
Difficult and easy bring about each other
Long and short reveal each other
High and low support each other
Music and voice harmonize each other
Front and back follow each other
Therefore the sages:
Manage the work of detached actions
Conduct the teaching of no words
They work with myriad things but do not control
They create but do not possess
They act but do not presume
They succeed but do not dwell on success
It is because they do not dwell on success
That it never goes away

  1. I read this midst a debate about good and evil. This proves a great point about balance. I do believe however that all labels are interchangeable and one of the same and therefore balance comes fron our understanding and commending of eachother.

            1. Oh my my, now I am blushing. After a long time I suppose. No, actually it has been only a few days since communication stopped in 101. Friends and kind souls like you have bestowed upon me love that I can’t pay-back despite best of my efforts so I just feel indebted ❀
